Construction : Modular machine construction ensuring easy access for service and maintenance. Linear measuring unit on the x-axis for compensation of temperature-dependent measurment changes after stop times. Control of turret carriage outside  

working area ensuring the prevention of soiling through chips and coolants. Hood of working area designed for simultaneous, automatic loading of both chucking tools using portal or side loader.The hydraulic unit is mounted as an assembly on a mounting base.

Turret
: 6 station turret with directional logic, installed for the pick-up of two twin tool retainers with a capacity for 2 tool retainers according to DIN 69880 (VDI 3425) each, shaft diameter 40 or 50 mm, suitable for assembly on 3 different reference levels. The adjustment of the tools to each other in z-direction in the twin-retainer is achieved using manual precision adjustment of the upper tool. The total adjustment path for the upper tool is +/-0.2 mm, adjustment accuracy 0.02 mm (1 graduation mark).The turret also allows the mounting of driven tools on several reference levels.Coolant supply is carried out centrally via the turret and the tool retainers onto the tool cutter.

Spindle : Twin-Spindle Unit with 2 vertically arranged, permanently greased headstocks for simultaneous processing of two work pieces.Actuation of double-spindle unit by a joint main drive. To ensure correct positioning of the work spindles to each other on the diameter axis (x-axis) the upper headstock is fitted movable onto the lower one.The adjustment is carried out via the CNC control system using the AC motor and the measuring unit. The simultaneous handling of work pieces results in a 50 % reduction of machining time including loading times. The distance between the spindles is 260 mm at reverese direction of rotation.

Driven tools: To enable the start-to-finish processing of work pieces the machine can be fitted with driven tools for radial and axial treatment. Driving power max. 7.5 kW for 2 tools at a time. Only tools in processing position are rotating.

Additional information:The machines can be automatically loaded and unloaded using portal and linear systems or robots.

Various postprocess and inprocess measuring units, collision and cutting force monitors as well as robotal devices for automatic loading and unloading are available as an additional option for all machine types.
